Embracing Growth in Gathering

You know how once you decide that you think you want to buy a Jeep, you then see Jeeps everywhere? I feel like that's how this statement has been for me this past week.
"Embracing growth means embracing _________."
That was that was the theme question for our Gathering of Light last week, and my brain is still filling in the blank. I want to share with you some of the answers that women gave and talked about at the meeting.

Transformation. This was a big one! We talked about the metaphor of the change from a caterpillar to a butterfly, and that embracing growth is embracing that same process that will transform us into what we were meant to be. The caterpillar was never meant to stay a caterpillar. The caterpillar is just the larva stage of the butterfly. Growth means changing from our larva stage to our true self stage! That was such a powerful takeaway.
Embracing growth means embracing our true identity.
Later in the week I was talking on the phone with my daughter, who is at college. I asked her to fill in the blank, and with no hesitation she said, "Embracing growth means embracing God." She went on to explain that God is the source of light and truth and perfectness. Any growth we have brings us closer to Him and the fullness He wants each of us to experience. Anytime we sacrifice or work or focus on growth we are becoming more like God. I loved that!
It has been such a growth experience for me to talk about this topic this month. It is so beautiful how different women's perspectives, experiences, wisdom, and witness deepen my understanding. I'm so grateful for the joy it has been to connect and the opportunities we will continue to have as we grow together!
